Spring Reflections & Decor

I finally got some Spring/ Easter decorations up around here. Spring brings with it many different thoughts and emotions for me. Spring says new and fresh and HOPE to me. It seems that Spring is always transition and here again I find myself with big changes on the horizon. Sometimes new is bad, but thank goodness the changes in Spring bring life and hope and a fresh outlook. At least that's how I'm choosing to see things this time around. One of my closest friends reminded me of a song by Nicole Nordeman that has meant so much to me through many seasons of life...Here are the lyrics that have been going through my mind as I've been reflecting on this new season approaching.

And everything that’s new has bravely surfaced

Teaching us to breathe

What was frozen through is newly purposed

Turning all things green

So it is with You

And how You make me new

With every season’s change

And so it will be

As You are re-creating me

Summer, autumn, winter, spring

And so, its time to bring some fresh decor to this house to reflect... SPRING!

First, my husband brought me these beautiful flowers when I told him I was going to be putting up Spring decorations. He said he thought they looked "Springy." Awww.

I added some to my favorite bud vases...

True Meaning Easter Eggs

I hope everyone is having a good week. It is my last week Nannying for my little Levi man and I have mixed emotions... His mommy is having a baby and he will have a little sister soon. I've loved the opportunity to pour into his little life and I've cherished the friendship (yes even as 2 year olds) that he and my daughter have. I will miss hearing "are they twins" everywhere we go. His family has been a blessing to me and I will miss seeing them everyday. But, I am anxious for the next chapter. I have an interview tomorrow for a Children's ministry position at our church. I'll let you know how it goes!

I will however have more time (hopefully) for some projects around the house! This weekend I worked on some Easter/ Spring decor. My favorite so far was the simplest to do!

Here's a DIY for making some brown paper Easter eggs with the TRUE meaning of Easter scripted on the outside.

I used a classic paper mache recipe to cover the eggs with the brown paper... This is a great website for \

I used these regular Easter eggs as my base.

Then, instead of newspaper, I used brown parcel paper.

Should have taken pictures of this process but it is very simple, promise!

After the eggs had dried I wrote on them with a white craft marker to resemble a chalky look.

This one says "He is Risen, indeed"

The other two eggs say... "It is finished" and "Halleluia"

I love all the spring decorations out there but I really wanted to find a way to reflect what Easter means to me without hanging a crucifix on my wall. These eggs tell the story beginning with the work Jesus finished on the cross, the assurance of his Resurrection, and a Halleluia to celebrate it all!

Happy Easter!

Gallery Wall

Well, we are all moved into our new place! We moved on March 1st and then I was out of town for 5 days and then we had friends staying with us for a few days too... So, needless to say, I have many boxes left unpacked and many blank walls. I feel like I have about 10 projects that are half-done at the moment... But, I did manage to finish a small, artsy gallery wall that I thought I would share...

I found this yellow tin at a thrift store for $3 and I just LOVE the worn chippy paint and ornate details...

Hope everyone is having a good week! Thanks for letting me share our home with you. Blessings!
